Through counseling, writing, and mentoring, Puente students are prepared to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and return to the community as leaders.

The year-long program includes writing instruction, one-on-one work with a counselor to develop an educational plan, and educational and cultural enrichment activities.

Puente scholars enroll in designated sections of English and counseling. Puente scholars remain fully supported by the program until they successfully transfer to a four-year university or college.
