SAS will assess and document the extent of the student's educational limitations. SAS will authorize academic accommodations based upon the educational limitations and severity of disability.
Accommodations may include interpreters or real-time captioning for the Deaf and hard of hearing, alternate format materials (such as Braille, large print, or e-text), exam accommodations, note takers, equipment loan, and priority enrollment for matriculated students. In addition, the department offers a specialized computer lab, learning strategies classes designed for students with learning disabilities, and special noncredit classes for students with disabilities. All services are designed to help students participate fully in the regular college program.
