About The Learning Centers

The Learning Centers (TLC) provide a variety of free academic support services to help students succeed at MiraCosta, including tutoring, writing feedback, and workshops. Course material, textbooks, laptops, calculators, anatomy models, and other resources are available for checkout use in TLC at the Oceanside and San Elijo Campuses.

TLC is located inside the Learning Commons on each campus:

Services Offered

TLC offers a supportive environment where students can develop effective learning skills across multiple disciplines. Services include drop-in and appointment tutoring and writing feedback, embedded support, supplemental instruction (SI), test preparation, workshops, events, and video feedback for writing. 

Academic Support & Innovation Center (ASIC)

Supports multiple disciplines, including accounting, art, business, counseling, CSIT, design, economics, music, psychology, and more.

STEM Learning Centers (STEMLC)

The Nordson Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Learning Centers (STEMLC) support biology, biotechnology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physical science, physics, and most other STEM courses.

Writing Center (WC)

Supports all readers and writers at any stage of the process. Students can receive feedback on class papers, presentations, transfer or scholarship essays, multimedia projects, and creative writing, or learn strategies for approaching complex course readings.
