MiraCosta College provides students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma as well as the noncredit certificates of completion and certificates of competency listed in the table below.

Certificate of Completion

The awarding of a certificate of completion means a student has completed a noncredit education program of noncredit courses that leads to improved employability or job opportunities and prepares them to progress in a career path or to undertake degree-applicable or nondegree-applicable credit courses.

Certificate of Competency

The awarding of a certificate of competency means a student enrolled in a noncredit educational program of noncredit courses has demonstrated achievement of a set of competencies that prepares them to progress in a career path or to undertake degree-applicable or nondegree-applicable credit courses.
